Chettinad Fish Curry


Chettinad cuisine is the cuisine of Chettinad region of Tamil Nadu. Chettinad non-veg dishes are usually hot and are flavored with freshly ground spices.



Ingredients:

350 gm fish
10 shallots cut into half
5 garlics cut into half
4 whole green chillies
2 sprig curry leaves
2 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp chilly powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp fennel and fenugreek powder(dry roasted and powdered)
1/2 cup tamarind juice
1/2 cup tomato puree
2 tbsp coconut oil
salt to taste

Method:

1. Heat oil in a pan and add the shallots,garlic and green chillies and saute till light brown.

2.Add coriander powder,turmeric powder and chilly powder and saute till the raw smell is gone.
3.Add the tamarind juice,tomato puree and boil.Add half cup water and let it boil.4.Add salt,fish and cook.
5.Add fennel seed and fenugreek powder when fish is cooked.
6.Add curry leaves.
7.Temper with fried shallots and curry leaves if required.

This one Sounds good, Will try when I go to auh. can we use tamarind instead of paste?If yes let me know the easurement....ur curry is still boiling..:)
